Much more of the same
Nearly a decade ago, Scott Finnern founded Atlas, called by an overpowering heart call of Christ to help others. The ministry of Atlas developed over the first seven years, helping hundreds of people in need in the Spencer area.
After Scott resigned in 2017, the first task was expanding and strengthening the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers, while seeking and hiring a new director, David Lyons. Transition can be difficult, yet thanks to God the mission activities of Atlas of Spencer were fully maintained and indeed have continued to progress.
The Board of Directors has diligently worked to understand and reframe the Atlas of Spencer Mission and Vision Statements. Building on a solid foundation the renewed mission remains the same for daily ministry, while the new vision shares a broader purpose for Atlas into the future.
Our goal is to be able to share our mission and vision more clearly with staff, clients, volunteers, and supporters.

simplified into Mission or Vision slogans:

To unite the broad community in providing life-altering help to those facing any of life’s many challenges. Atlas seeks to be a catalyst for cooperation among churches, Christian ministry groups, secular groups, and government agencies, while being a clearinghouse connecting those in need with the appropriate caregivers

FOSTERING COMMUNITY AWARENESS, CONCERN, AND RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF AREA RESIDENTS
Atlas is only a tiny piece of the huge vision of helping those in need in Spencer and surrounding communities. We truly need the help and hearts of the community to achieve this Mission and Vision. Thank you so much for all you do personally to help others you encounter and all you do for Atlas to help us do the same.
