GUARD YOUR MIND
As we have been talking about the pieces of God’s armor, isn’t it interesting how
they all are intertwined, and each one is needed to help the other? Today’s piece of
armor is the helmet of salvation which is there to guard our minds. In today’s world there
is a lot of attention given to mental health and the importance of having healthy, positive
thoughts. In order to be at our healthiest mentally, we need to have our helmet on to
protect and guard our thoughts. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about
anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Why do you think athletes where helmets,
bike riders, etc? To protect their head. I know people who have been in accidents and
their helmet is what has caved their life. That is why God gives us the helmet of
salvation to save us from the thoughts the enemy gives us that are not from God. We
are to meditate on God’s Word day and night to help guard our minds so that whatever
is lovely and noble we can think on those things. What are you thinking about? Are you
wearing your helmet?
