LIVE BY THE SWORD

Today we are talking about the offensive weapon God has given us in His armor. The

sword of the spirit. The sword is God’s Word. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God

is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing

soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” The

Bible is the greatest and most effective weapon you can have in fighting spiritual battles.

The sword is there to speak truth against the enemies lies. When satan tempted Jesus

he used scripture, but Jesus knew the Word even better and used the truth of scripture

to stand strong against satan. Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart

that I might not sin against you.” What are you hiding in your heart? Is your sword (Bible

knowledge) sharp so you can defeat the enemies schemes?
